Ministry update TTN

Touching The Nations

Greetings in the Lord!!!

Wow what an awesome month. God is so good! So many things is happening in our midst. Praise the Lord! Hope you are doing okay. We are all doing great and are blessed to be able to serve the Lord in the Philippines.

This month God is opening new doors into prision ministry. What a breakthrough! Attendance seems to be growing during the weekly meetings. We are looking forward to see how God is going to raise up disciples in the prison. Continue to pray for this new ministry that God may continue to guide those who are involved.

The church continues to grow. This month the Lord has opened up many new doors for us to start new Home Churches. So please keep praying. We are expecting a huge harvest in the month of April.....

The discipleship School continues to grow too. We have added 2 new students to the school and maybe next month another 1-2 students will be added. At the moment we have 9 full time students that are being trained for full time ministry. Praise the Lord! God is doing such a wonderful work in our midst.

Also the Lord has blessed us with a wonderful holiday for 5 days. Praise the Lord! I had a wonderful time with the family. It was so good to be able to have a little break and leave the city to spend time with my family. The kids are still talking about the holiday. They had such a blessed time. Playing in the sand, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking (although the kids didn't really appreciate this one so much.....) and more swimming. All in all we had a wonderful time on holiday. The beaches are beautiful here once you are able to leave the city.

Really want to thank you for your continued faithful support. I will never be able to thank you all for all your help. I just wish I could let you know how much I appreciate your continued faithful help and support. Know that without your help we would not be able to have this ministry in the Philippines. Where lives are being changed and impacted for the glory of the Lord. Thanks a million for everything. Feel free to write me. I love to hear from you.

Lots of love,

         Arthur Peter

Discipleship Training School (DTS)

This month two new students joined DTS. At the moment we have 9 full time students. Every month I will add a testimony of the students who are part of DTS. Who can better share with you what God is doing in their life, than the students themselves. So you will be able to see the wonderful work God is doing... Lives are being changed and transformed. People who join DTS will never be the same. Thanks for supporting our students and making it possible for them to undergo a training, so their lives will never be the same again.

Testimony Esther....

Here in Discipleship Training School (DTS) where I am being trained to be effective follower for the purpose and for the glory of God. In my first year of my training i went through a very difficult time as if I would not survive. The training was very intensive. God rearranged everything inside out. God changed my way of thinking and doing. I have learned many things and will continue to learn more (There is so much things that I need to learn.).

The DTS teaches us sensitive and important topics that have been ignored and neglected by many churches of today. it teaches us about "Pride & Humility", "How to Relate to Authority", "Evangelism", "Loyalty & Disloyalty", "Stewardship" and many more...

The training is all about learning and applying it in real life. Teachings that can't be ignored because it is following wherever you go and makes you aware of all the things you have learned.

During my training I have really grown in my faith and learned how to live by faith. Also I am learning more and more what it means to be death to self. More and more I realize that it is not about me or I, but God's greatness and grace that abounds in my life.

The biggest challenge for us is that while we are being trained we are being sent out taking the responsibility fo a shepherd or Pastor. It is only by God's grace that we can do such a wonderful work. I have learned to be independant but at the same time dependant upon God. To follow Him and His leading. I thank the Lord for everything whether good or bad. I will always praise Him and will forever be grateful. Bless His holy name!!!!

                            Sister in Christ,

24/7 PRAYER.... 24 HOURS A DAY ... 365 DAY'S A YEAR (House of Prayer)

Awesome things are happening in the church. The presence of God is just awesome! Thank you so much for the goodies that were shipped. Those who send us CD's, thank you so much. It is a real blessing to have more praise and worhip cd's. It helps us to continue to pray.....

God continues to move in our midst. This month we have seen an awesome growth in the church. We have a total of 15 Home Churches (between 3-12 members) and 15 Bible Studies (potential Home church, but not approved yet.). This means that the church has 30 small groups at the moment. However, the good news is that we are expecting a huge growth in the month of April. Pray with us that we may see the breakthrough we are expecting.... Very exciting!

God is doing such a beautiful work in our midst. Nice and sweet presence in our midst. People are getting delivered and set free from bondages. Also God is opening up a new door. It looks like the Lord is opening up doors for prison ministry. This past month we have had several meetings and the meetings continue to grow. Pray that this new ministry that it will continue to grow.....

On April 12 we will have our Celebration Party. Every two months the church has a gathering of all the Home Churches and encourages all members to come together for fellowship and worship. Looking forward to see all the members come together to worship the Lord...

Rachel's Testimony about 24/7 Prayer

Hi I am Rachel, when 24/7 prayer started many things happened. We experienced persecution, rejection and many lies from the enemies, but God showed us that Satan is trembling and afraid.

The 24/7 prayer watch is very powerful; the presence of God is very strong. I remember my experience when I was worshipping I heard another voice sing together with me and footsteps walking in the sanctuary, the precious Holy Spirit is always in the sanctuary and many prayer request are being answered. Jesus said that we are His precious servants, be faithful to serve Him as long as we are alive! God told me that we can retire from our career but never from serving Him.

Nothing Grows Under The Banyan Tree

"Nothing grows under a banyan tree." This South Indian proverb
speaks of leadership styles. The banyan is a great tree. It spreads its
branches, drops air-roots, develops secondary trunks and covers the land. A full grown banyan may cover more than an acre of land. Birds, animals,
and humans find shelter under its shade. But nothing grows under its
dense foliage, and when it dies, the ground beneath lies barren and

What is Tithing?

9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:9

Tithing is a principle of giving ordained by the Lord. The word tithe literally means 10%. In other words a tenth of all your income and produce should be returned to the Lord. Notice that it says the first fruits and not last fruits. Meaning that tithing should really be the first thing we lay aside and give to the Lord. Not the last thing we do and try to fit in.

Tithing is giving a tenth of what we receive, to God. It is not a donation to God, but merely the recognition of His ownership of our lives, acknowledging Him as our high priest and Lord. The tithe belongs to the Lord (Leviticus 27:30-34). Everything on this earth belongs to the Lord and He has given us stewardship over 90% of it. MORE.........

Touching The Nations

The doctor checking some patients
First of all we want to thank you for your support. Through your donations TTN was able to touch and help many people. We will never be able to thank you for making this possible, but we know the Lord will. Thanks a million for your help.

On arrival, Saturday June 3, 2006, the team was challenged and we had a lot of opposition. The weather was not a problem this time, but Satan was using people instead. Satan was not going to let us enter his territory without battle. However, God held the team together and the program started at 1pm as planned. The Lord brought 300 people to the outreach.

We opened the program with some worship and after that local pastors introduced themselves. There were 6 local pastors who attendedTaking blood pressure by some nursing students. the outreach and followed up on those who gave their life to the Lord.
After the opening it was time for the nursing students and some of our members to teach the local people on topics like family planning, hygiene, nutrition and orasol. Next to this we also did blood typing and blood pressure taking. Plus, we gave away reading glasses to those who needed them. This all took about 1 hour.
Then it was time for some of our members to act out a drama and give their testimony about what Christ has done in their life.
This was the first time we did a drama, but they did an excellent job and it is definitely a keeper. Beside the drama, two members of the church, Nato & Blood typingDick, gave their testimony about what God has done in their life. Dick added a bonus to the testimony. He had written a song about his salvation.

The play and testimonies were very powerful and the ongoing theme in the messages was about the freedom we have in Christ. Freedom from sin, alcohol, drugs, etc.

The next item on the agenda was worship. One local church led us into worship. It was good. As we worshipped I could feel an increase in His presence. The people were getting ready to hear the Good News.

After preaching the gospel 10 people gave their life to the Lord. As I was preaching their was a lot of spiritual resistance, but the team was praying and Dick giving his testminyGod prevailed. The area is known has having many witch doctors (heard saying). So that can be the underlining resistance. However, 10 people gave their life to the Lord. The local pastors were so happy with their salvations. They said it is a very hard area to see souls saved. So all we can say is praise the Lord for those 10 souls and may God use them to draw many other people into His Kindom.

After giving the altar call I prayed for those who had problems or sickness. Not so many people came forward, but those who came forward were all touched by the Lord. Five people came forward for prayer and ALL five got healed. Praise the Lord! What a witness of His power. Afterward two of them gave a testimony of what God had done.

Arthur giving altar callAfter this great victory it was time to bless the people more. The Lord had blessed us with funds to give away clothes, school supplies, slippers and food.

If you are interested in seeing more pictures (39) about this outreach click here

The people were so thankful and I wish we as a team would have been able to give much more. These people are so poor, that whatever you give is appreciated. However, they were very thankful for what we were able to give. So again, thanks for making this possible and being part of this ministry.
         God bless,
                   Arthur Peter

Touching The Nations

Daddy with his son'sDear Friend,

Thank you for your overwhelming response to the 3 testimonies we placed in our previous newsletter. Many people said that they were really blessed to see how God works in every nation and that He is working all over the world. Because of all the positive responses I will try to have at least 1 testimony of a person whose life has been changed because of Jesus Christ.

Just last week I have been to Tanabag to get prepared for our coming outreach on Saturday June 3. I was very overwhelmed by the needs. For example there are 12 children (ages between 6 months and 6 years) who are officially classified as having 2nd degree of malnutrition, meaning that they have physical weaknesses because of insufficient food or an unbalanced diet. Thanks to your support we will be able to help a little. Next to this we are planning to give away bibles, food, clothes, pens, notebooks, etc. If you feel to support this outreach please mention TANABAG OUTREACH on your check or electronic donation and 100% of the money received will be going toward the outreach. Thanks for your faithful support.

Last week we started our first Sunday School for children. About 10-15 kids showed up. We are excited about how God continues to bring more people to the church. On the right you will see a picture of the members who are coming to church. However, there are no college students on it yet. They will all be coming back again next month.

Awesome and exciting things are happening here. We have been invited by Palawan Technic Poly College (PPCI) to have bible study on campus. At the moment we are the only church who will be working on campus. This college has about 1000 college students, 1000 high school students and 1000 elementary students. We are very excited about this invitation and looking forward to see God touch many souls.

(Lebnitz has been coming to church since August 2005 and will be part of my D12 soon.)

I thank the Lord for this fellowship because of this I got closer to God and eventually I got baptized (November 2005). Meaning I accepted God and committed myself to Him for the rest of my life.

Each time I receive more revelations about God and who He is. The Bible helps me a lot to become a mature Christian and to activate the Holy Spirit in me. I know now that the bible is the truth and is a guide for how we as Christian should live, so we must value it ….

Every word in the Bible is important and it can heal and help everybody to live a powerful and whole life in Christ. My biggest desire is to see lesser of me and more of the power of Christ in my life.

Lebnitz (2nd year College Student – Studies Tourism)

That's it for this month. Hope you enjoyed reading our latest update and seeing some pictures. Please feel free to respond. We love to hear from you. Thanks again for all your help and being part of this ministry. Lots of love from the Philippines.

Watch Where You're Giving

I will never forget a woman who came to the food pantry at our
church. She also needed a little money to pay her next month's
rent. When she came into my office, it was obvious her front teeth
had been broken out. When I asked what happened, she said her
boyfriend, Freddy, had knocked her teeth out.

I said, "He must not be a very nice man."

She said, "Oh yes, Freddy is a nice man. He loves me and cares
for me." Then she asked me for half-a-month's rent. Our church
happened to have enough money to help her out, so I gave her the
money. This surprised her.

She said, "So often when I ask churches for money, they don't
give me much help." Then she added something I will never forget.
She said, "You know, it's interesting to me how it's mostly poor
people who help poor people. The rich people really don't."

The statement indicted me a bit because I thought of all the
times we had spent vast amounts of money to put on huge choir
programs, church building, fellowship, staff salaries and then said we didn't have enough money to feed the poor. I wonder if God was very impressed with our disclaimers.

It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. We had not seen rain
in almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows had stopped giving
milk. The creeks and streams were long gone back into the earth. It
was a dry season that would bankrupt several farmers before it was
through. Every day, my husband and his brothers would go about the
arduous process of trying to get water to the fields. Lately this
process had involved taking a truck to the local water rendering plant
and filling it up with water. But severe rationing had cut everyone
off. If we didn't see some rain soon...we would lose everything.

It was on this day that I learned the true lesson of sharing and witnessed
the only miracle I have seen with my own eyes. I was in the kitchen
making lunch for my husband and his brothers when I saw my six-year old
son, Billy, walking toward the woods. He wasn't walking with the usual
carefree abandon of a youth but with a serious purpose.
I could only see his back. He was obviously walking with a great effort...trying to be as still as possible. Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again, toward the house. I went back to making sandwiches; thinking that whatever task he had been doing was
completed. Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that
slow purposeful stride toward the woods.

This activity went on for an hour: walk carefully to the woods, run
back to the house. Finally I couldn't take it any longer and I crept out of
the house and followed him on his journey (being very careful not to be
seen...as he was obviously doing important work and didn't need his
Mommy checking up on him).
He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked; being very careful not to spill the water he held in them...maybe two or three tablespoons were held in his tiny hands. I sneaked close as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns slapped his little face but he did not try to avoid them. He had a much higher purpose. As I leaned in to spy on him, I saw the most amazing site.

Several large deer loomed in front of him. Billy walked right up to
them. I almost screamed for him to get away. A huge buck with
elaborate antlers was dangerously close. But the buck did not threaten
him...he didn't even move as Billy knelt down. And I saw a tiny fawn
laying on the ground, obviously suffering from dehydration and heat
exhaustion, lift its head with great effort to lap up the water cupped
in my beautiful boy's hand.

When the water was gone, Billy jumped up to run back to the house and I
hid behind a tree. I followed him back to the house; to a spigot that
we had shut off the water to. Billy opened it all the way up and a
small trickle began to creep out. He knelt there, letting the drip,
drip slowly fill up his makeshift "cup," as the sun beat down on his
little back. And it came clear to me. The trouble he had gotten into
for playing with the hose the week before. The lecture he had received
about the importance of not wasting water. The reason he didn't ask me
to help him.

It took almost twenty minutes for the drops to fill his hands. When he
stood up and began the trek back, I was there in front of him. His
little eyes just filled with tears. "I'm not wasting," was all he
said. As he began his walk, I joined him...with a small pot of water
from the kitchen. I let him tend to the fawn. I stayed away. It was
his job. I stood on the edge of the woods watching the most beautiful
heart I have ever known working so hard to save another life.

As the tears that rolled down my face began to hit the ground, they were
suddenly joined by other drops...and more drops...and more. I looked
up at the sky. It was as if God, himself, was weeping with pride. Some
will probably say that this was all just a huge coincidence. That
miracles don't really exist. That it was bound to rain sometime. And
I can't argue with that...I'm not going to try. All I can say is that
the rain that came that day saved our farm...just like that actions of one
little boy saved another.

A man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard.
Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the
right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have
beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in
frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection
with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window
and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.

The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her
to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted,
photographed, and placed in a cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the
door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting
officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind
your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in
front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would
Jesus Do" bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper
sticker and the chrome-plated fish emblem on the trunk. Naturally, I
assumed you had stolen the car."

Newsletter April 2006

Touching The Nations

Barnabas sleepingDear Friend,

On Sunday April 9, 2006 we had our 1st year celebration. It was on April 10, 2005 that we had our first service. What has happened in this past year and what is the vision for this coming year.

It has been one year ago that we started the church. Starting with zero members and no connections the Lord brought us to Puerto Princesa City. Now one year later we have had 14 baptisms and the church has grown to about 20 people. The church has at the moment 3 cell groups (LIFE group meetings). One lead by a member of the church and two by me. Finally we also had a Christmas outreach in Aborlan (1,5 hour south of city) were we reached about 500 people with the Gospel and were 30-50 accepted the Lord.

For the coming year we believe the Lord has just started. We are praying that by the end of April 2007 the church will have more than 100 members and that the church will have about 6-12 LIFE group meetings led by my 12 disciples. My main focus will be on my 12 disciples, preparing and teaching them for the ministry.

Last month I said I would ask some of the members for their testimony of what God has done in their life. I mainly asked my potential 12 disciples to write their testimony and because of space I will only post 3 of them. Next month I will post another 3 until they all have been posted.

There is a big change in my life since I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, King and Father. He touched my heart and embraced me to let me know that He will always be there for me, no matter what.

The most wonderful thing that God did in my life is how He healed me from asthma. Now I am able to do anything because I can breathe freely.

So I thank God for all your help and for sending Arthur Peter to the Philippines. Now I am able to study the bible and can get to know Him better. Thanks to all your help I can shout “I love You Jesus Christ!!”

Rio Lynn (College Student – Studies Education)

Last December 1999 I had a very big problem with the dad of my children. He had another woman in his life and totally abandoned us. I had many sleepless nights, no appetite, always angry and no peace of mind.

Until I met my long time friend, I shared my problem with her and she invited me to attend their Sunday worship. At the very moment I asked the Lord will He put me to sleep that night and help m to accept all these problems patiently. That very same night God gave me a sound sleep without taking any tranquilizers and He even got the thorns in my heart. Then January 2000 my youngest and only son died, as if I had the whole world on me, but because of God’s love I was able to face life. But after 2 years I was a backslider then and became my old self again. My life had no direction until last August 2005. Cynthia invited me to join the church.

As soon as I joined the meeting the Holy Spirit gave me the gift of excitement. From then on I am always looking forward for our next meeting. I even joined the D12 meetings and I am very active in planning projects for the church.

I want to thank the Lord for Pastor Arthur Peter. For his teachings that made me more a matured and fulfilled Christian. I have learned that there is no big problem with a BIG GOD.

        Ate Malou

Before the day of my baptism, my life was so miserable, a lot of problems, many unanswered questions kept hunting my mind e.g. what was my purpose here on earth? Why is God punishing me with all these problems? Peer pressure, family problems, etc. etc. Life felt so dark and tiring.

But when I accepted God in my life everything changed, it was like I was born again. I feel like a person full with strength, courage, faith and determination to continue my life with God.

All the unanswered questions that kept haunting me started to become clearer. It was so good to feel the Holy Spirit in me. I am starting to know my purpose here on earth. I am very thankful to the Lord that He changed my life from darkness into light, hope, purpose and direction.

Baby Ann (College Student – Studies Education)

The members of the church are all excited and ready to face the Youngest son - Calebcoming year. We as a church would like to thank you for all your help and support during the past year. Without all your prayers, support and help this would not have been possible. May God bless you abundantly above all you can ask or think.

Name Above All Names?

In Exodus 3:15 God designates Himself by a name, indicated in the original Hebrew by the four consonants YHWH (vowels were not supplied in the text). These four letters as written in Hebrew are referred to as the tetragrammaton. Today we are not sure how this name was pronounced, though Hebrew scholars suggest "Yahweh" or "Yaywah." More important than the actual pronunciation of the name, of course, was its meaning to Moses and to Pharaoh, as the context of Exodus chapter three reveals. Additionally, since God reveals that He has called this name upon Himself to time indefinite (forever), we need to understand its meaning for us.

Jehovah's Witnesses, since 1931, like to credit themselves with having a `corner on the market' with God's name. Yet, it was not until 1931 that they took their present name. I was talking with Joseph Pandolfo in Ohio the other day, who is now 86 years old. Joseph served at Watchtower headquarters in the 30's and knew J. F. Rutherford (then the President), having talked with him on many occasions. Joseph mentioned a letter he wrote to Rutherford in 1930 asking why the "Bible Students" (as they were then called) did not have a name to distinguish themselves from the rest of the churches. Pandolfo's letter was never answered, but a year later Rutherford announced a new name for their group, "Jehovah's Witnesses." Rutherford's intention was to set the organization fully apart from the rest of the world who called themselves Christian.
